Artist Statement

I would describe myself as a modern day impressionist focused on landscape and trees. While not a traditional landscape painter, I take the environment that I am surrounded by and recreate it in painting. Many paintings portray the integration of nature within a man-made environment. My goal is to portray the glimpses of beauty within everyday surroundings. While this work is representational, it is an impression of the moment and has a specific layered looseness that creates a dreamlike state.

I am on a continuous journey to improve my sense of light, space and atmosphere in paintings. I have studied under the modern-day master, Ovanes Berberian, who is known for his color harmony and composition. I continue to seek inspiration from my environment and keep pushing myself to create an impression on the viewer that is both inspiring and beautiful.
